Making clap-off bra

The prototype could be the answer to the dreams of millions of men if it went into production, consigning to history the dreaded clasp-fumbling that often happens in the throes of passion.

The bra-vellous device is the brainchild of Randy Sarafan, author of 62 Projects To Make With A Dead Computer.

The electronics whizz describes how he was inspired to make the clap-off bra after reading about wacky electronic undergarments sold in Syria, such as musical knickers.

‘Those of us in Western cultures have a thing or two to learn from the Syrians about gaudy electronic lingerie. Henceforth, it became my mission to fast-forward lingerie technology in the West,’ he says.
So Sarafan, from San Francisco, set about making his own clap-powered bra using old circuit boards and electromagnets.
If you want to have a go at making one yourself, then read Sarafan’s step-by-step guide here.
