But it doesn't appear as though David Beckham has passed on any of his grooming tips to best friend Gary Neville when they dined together last night in Manchester.
As they left Rio Ferdinand's restaurant Rosso, the pair looked like something of an odd couple, with Gary looking a little scruffy next to David and his expertly styled locks.
David, 35, has been sporting a 1950s-style quiff of late, after a few months of wearing it in a lanky middle-part.
Her debuted the gelled 'do last month while wearing a tweed suit, creating an overall country gentleman look.
But the sportsman toned down the look last night, going casual in a blue denim shirt, jeans, a grey cardigan and beige scarf.
Gary, also 35, was almost stylish in a blazer and jeans combo, but let the ensemble down by adding a zip-up jumper, scruffy shirt and half-heartedly combed hair.
The old friends caught up over Italian food at the upmarket restaurant, a favourite of the local football players and WAGs.
David is in the northern city to attend the match between Manchester United and Manchester City at Old Trafford today.
His three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five, accompanied him to the game today, but stayed at home while their father enjoyed a boys dinner.
No doubt David will have been filling his good friend Gary in on all the exciting happenings in the Beckham house, including wife Victoria's pregnancy and his loan deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Beckham has said previously that Neville is one of three people he would trust with his wife naked.
'That's how good they are as friends,' he said, but declined to reveal who the other two trustworthy sorts were.
